Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Lead Respiratory Therapist to oversee patient care, coordinate staffing, and support the care team on the unit. You will supervise day-to-day operations, mentor staff, and escalate safety concerns while ensuring high-quality respiratory services.

Under the Operations Manager, you will lead clinical practice, participate in governance, and partner with physicians and nurses to optimize patient flow and outcomes across shifts.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as a Respiratory Therapist (Respiratory Care Professional) in the state of Georgia.
• Associates Degree required for role.
• Five (5) years of acute care or greater experience as an RRT in a hospital acute care setting.
• Respiratory Therapy training through an accredited school and successful completion of examination.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates leadership and guides staff to provide optimal patient care.
• Represents lead therapist responsibilities related to patient care and unit operations.
• Applies critical thinking to troubleshoot and improve processes.
• Maintains strong communication with care team and other departments.
• Oversees shift duties and administrative tasks as assigned.
