Job summary

VCU Health in Richmond, Virginia is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide safe, evidence-based respiratory care for neonate through geriatric patients. You will assess, monitor, and adjust therapies under physician guidance, while educating patients and staff as a resource.

Role may include shift-team leadership in the supervisor's absence. Valid Virginia RT license and NBRC RRT certification are required, with ACLS/PALS preferred and ongoing education encouraged.

Qualifications

• Licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Respiratory Therapist.
• NBRC certification as Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.
• Current CPR certification as required by practice setting.
• NBRC or NAECB credentials preferred.
• ACLS/PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cardiopulmonary assessment and monitoring, including during emergencies.
• Airway care and ventilator management as appropriate.
• Consult with physicians and interdisciplinary team on patient care plans.
• Perform shift team leader duties in the supervisor’s absence.
• May rotate shifts and take on-call as needed.
