Job summary

Wellstar Spalding is seeking a Lead Respiratory Therapist with NICU experience to oversee the nightly respiratory care team and ensure safe, high-quality patient care. You will direct daily activities, assist with onboarding and precepting, and act as a clinical resource for staff, physicians, patients, and families.

The role emphasizes PI initiatives, data collection, and collaboration with multiple departments to maintain equipment readiness and care standards on the unit.

Qualifications

• Leads shift and assigns workload with focus on safe patient care.
• Facilitates interdisciplinary planning and timely care delivery.
• Monitors staff performance and coordinates training.
• Maintains equipment function and PI initiative support.

Responsibilities

• Directs daily activities of assigned shift on NICU units.
• Provides direct patient care, medication administration, and patient safety.
• Onboards and precepts new staff and students.
• Supports PI, customer service, safety, and quality initiatives.
• Maintains staffing levels and monitors equipment and productivity.
• Collaborates with leadership to ensure high-quality care.
