Job summary

PromptCare is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a home-care, field-based role in Plainview, NY. The position emphasizes patient advocacy, 24/7 readiness with department leadership, and a hands-on approach to respiratory care and equipment setup.

The candidate should be a graduate of an accredited Respiratory School with RRT credential, current state licensure, CPR-BLS, and at least 1 year of RT experience, preferably in home care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory School.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner state licensure in the state of employment.
• Willing to cross-license in other states at company expense.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance in good standing.
• At least 1 year experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Home care experience highly desirable.
• RRT certification required.
• CPR-BLS certification required.
• Able to use email and document electronic notes promptly.

Responsibilities

• Provide patients and families with timely, accurate information about services and take corrective action to ensure satisfaction.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with patients, families, and referral sources.
• Plan daily routes to minimize travel time and maximize efficiency.
• Assist with scheduling set ups and follow-up visits per policy.
• Coordinate patient discharges with RT Clinical Liaisons.
• Triage field issues per SOPs and training policies.
• Document patient concerns accurately and timely, with corrective actions when needed.
• Maintain knowledge of PromptCare SOPs and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Support a white-glove service culture for patients and families.
• Submit travel expense reports monthly and on time.
• Fulfill on-call responsibilities as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
