Job summary

St. Francis Medical Center in Los Angeles is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II) to perform respiratory therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician, with emphasis on assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of patient care.

The role may involve lead responsibilities during shifts. Required licenses/certifications include state RCP license, NBRC RRT, BLS, ACLS, and PALS with preferred NRP.

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the NBRC or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.
• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is preferred.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
• Two (2) years of acute care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the provider.
• Emphasize assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of care with patient age/population considerations.
• May serve as Lead RCP and oversee the section/department during a shift.
