Job summary

Horst Construction is seeking a highly skilled Residential Framing Foreman to lead our field crew. This role requires substantial hands-on wood-framing experience and the ability to work with the crew on demolition, framing, carpentry, and related construction tasks.

The candidate should interpret plans, lay out framing, solve field problems, and complete work efficiently with minimal supervision. Strong communication and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional hands-on residential wood-framing experience.
• Ability to independently lay out and frame walls, floors, and roof structures.
• Experience leading carpenters or small crews on remodels or new homes.
• Strong understanding of framing techniques, materials, codes, and safety.
• Comfortable using apps for time tracking, reporting, and photos.

Responsibilities

• Independently lay out and frame residential walls, floors, ceilings, and roof structures.
• Perform structural modifications including beams, headers, posts, and engineered framing components.
• Read and interpret architectural and structural plans and specs.
• Lead a small field crew while performing carpentry work.
• Perform selective demolition while protecting structures and finishes.
• Install windows and doors (exterior and interior).
• Coordinate daily field activities with subcontractors and the project manager.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized jobsites; track hours and progress photos.
• Ensure workmanship, productivity, and efficient material use.
