Chads Design Build in Madison, WI is seeking an experienced Lead Residential Carpenter to deliver high-quality home remodeling projects across the Madison area. You will read plans, supervise framing and finish carpentry, and take ownership from layout to punch-list while mentoring junior carpenters.

Responsibilities

• Lead carpentry work on residential remodeling projects (kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions, whole-home renovations).
• Perform and oversee framing, finish carpentry, trim, cabinetry, doors, windows, and other detailed work.
• Read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Coordinate day-to-day field activities with project managers and team members.
• Help keep projects moving efficiently and identify issues before schedules are affected.
• Troubleshoot field challenges and make practical decisions.
• Maintain high standards for craftsmanship, site safety, cleanliness, and organization.
• Mentor and support developing carpenters.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners, trade partners, and coworkers.
• Own work from layout through punch-list completion.

Chads Design Build is looking for an experienced Lead Residential Carpenter to help deliver residential remodeling projects throughout the Madison area.

What You'll Do

• Lead carpentry work on residential remodeling projects, including kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions, and whole-home renovations

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of residential remodeling or construction experience
• Advanced general and finish carpentry skills
• Strong experience working independently from construction plans and drawings
• Ability to lead work in the field and guide less experienced carpenters
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Professional communication and a team-first approach
• Ability to manage priorities and maintain productivity on active remodeling projects
