Qualifications

• 5+ years of residential remodeling or construction experience.
• Advanced general and finish carpentry skills.
• Strong experience reading and interpreting construction plans and drawings.
• Ability to lead field work and guide less experienced carpenters.

Responsibilities

• Lead carpentry work on residential remodeling projects (kitchens, baths, basements, additions, whole-home renovations).
• Perform and oversee framing, finish carpentry, trim, cabinetry, doors, windows, and other detailing.
• Read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specs.
• Coordinate day-to-day field activities with project managers and team members.
• Help keep projects moving efficiently and identify issues early.
• Troubleshoot field challenges and make informed decisions.
• Maintain high standards for safety, cleanliness, and organization.
• Mentor and support developing carpenters.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners, trade partners, and coworkers.

Chads Design Build is looking for an experienced Lead Residential Carpenter to help deliver residential remodeling projects throughout the Madison area.

What You'll Do

• Lead carpentry work on residential remodeling projects, including kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions, and whole-home renovations
• Perform and oversee framing, finish carpentry, trim, cabinetry, doors, windows, and other detailed construction work

• Mentor and support developing carpenters

• Take ownership of work from initial layout through final details and punch-list completion

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of residential remodeling or construction experience
• Advanced general and finish carpentry skills
• Strong experience working independently from construction plans and drawings
• Ability to lead work in the field and guide less experienced carpenters
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Professional communication and a team-first approach
• Ability to manage priorities and maintain productivity on active remodeling projects
