Job summary

Chad's Design Build in Madison, WI is seeking an experienced Lead Residential Carpenter to deliver residential remodeling projects across the Madison area. This full-time role requires hands-on leadership on kitchens, bathrooms, additions, and whole-home renovations.

You will read plans, mentor apprentices, and coordinate with project managers while maintaining safety and craftsmanship. Compensation starts at $45-$50 per hour, based on experience and skill level, with opportunities for ongoing

Qualifications

5+ years of residential remodeling or construction experience.
Advanced general and finish carpentry skills.
Strong experience reading and executing from plans/drawings.
Ability to lead field work and mentor junior carpenters.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Lead carpentry work on residential remodeling projects, including kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions, and whole-home renovations
Perform and oversee framing, finish carpentry, trim, cabinetry, doors, windows, and other detailed construction work
Read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications
Coordinate day-to-day field activities with project managers and other team members
Help keep projects moving efficiently and identify potential issues before they affect schedules
Troubleshoot field challenges and make practical, informed decisions
Maintain high standards for craftsmanship, jobsite safety, cleanliness, and organization
Mentor and support developing carpenters
Communicate professionally with homeowners, trade partners, project managers, and coworkers
Take ownership of work from initial layout through final details and punch-list completion

What You'll Do

Ability to lead work in the field and guide less experienced carpenters
