Job summary

Charles River Laboratories is seeking a focused lead technician to oversee animal studies, administer test substances, and collect data across multiple study types with specialized capabilities.

You will mentor staff, contribute to SOP updates, and help develop new techniques while ensuring adherence to GLP standards and study protocols. High school diploma with biology background preferred; 2+ years in a similar lab setting is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in biological science preferred.
• 2+ years of related experience in animal science, biology, chemistry/pharmacy, or a similar lab environment.
• Must be able to work effectively as a team member, record data accurately, and communicate professionally.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead/primary technician on routine and complex study types, including specialized studies.
• Administer test substances by various methods, including neonatal certification.
• Perform in-life procedures, handle and care for laboratory animals, and collect data per GLP regulations.
• Review study protocols and assist with development and refinement of procedures.
• Train personnel in specialized techniques and collaborate with scientific staff on new models.
