Job summary

Yale Cancer Center is seeking a Research Facility Manager to direct the operation and safety of Wright Lab and AIDC facilities in New Haven. You will oversee laboratories, cryogenic spaces, and remote operation rooms, ensuring compliance and efficient space use.

This on-site role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to coordinate with faculty, EH&S, and Yale Facilities. A Bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ related experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage laboratory facilities, staff safety, and research projects.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public presentation, networking, and email.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates unit needs and determines maintenance and custodial services required.
• Implements policies and procedures for facility maintenance, use, and safety.
• Ensures building maintenance, custodial services, and safety issues are resolved.
• Monitors inventory, procurement, and shipping; manages supplies for facilities.
• Coordinates contractual safeguards and ensures warranties are fulfilled.
• Interacts with internal and external contacts to arrange maintenance services and price quotes.
