Job summary

Yale University is seeking a Research Facility Manager to lead the operation and maintenance of Wright Lab and the AIDC in PSEB Phase 1. You will oversee laboratories, shared spaces, and support spaces, ensuring safety and compliant practices on site.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Research, you will coordinate space improvements, maintenance, and safety programs with Yale Facilities, EH&S, and PI groups, spending substantial time on-site.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to manage laboratory operations and personnel safety.
• Strong knowledge of mechanics, safety, emergency protocols, and project management.
• Excellent oral and written communication, including public presentations and emails.
• Ability to lead multiple priorities with effective delegation and independence.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates needs and determines maintenance and custodial services required.
• Develops and enforces departmental policies for facility maintenance, use, and safety.
• Ensures safety, building code compliance, and issue resolution across Wright Lab and AIDC.
• Manages inventory, supplies, and vendor contracts related to facilities.
• Coordinates space improvements/modifications with Yale Facilities and EH&S.
• Oversees budget development and allocation for buildings and physical plant.
