Job summary

Total Safety seeks a Lead Rescue Technician to provide technical rescue standby for customer projects, including confined space and rope rescues, plus first aid and CPR. You will assess risks, ready rescue gear, and plan safe working practices compliant with client standards.

In emergencies you locate patients, package for extraction, and coordinate with EMS for care and transport. The role involves supervision of a rescue crew, field monitoring, and maintaining equipment readiness.

Qualifications

• 80 Hour Rescue Technician certification and 1 year field experience.
• CPR, First Aid with AED, HazMat certification or higher.
• Confined Space Entrant/Attendant experience and Incident Command System knowledge (ICS 100/200/700/800).

Responsibilities

• Assist in assessing hazards and draft a Confined Space Rescue Preplan and a Rescue Safety Analysis (RSA).
• Identify hazards and establish hazard controls and emergency contingency plans.
• May supervise a crew of rescue technicians.
• Conduct general air quality monitoring and recommend PPE based on data interpretation.
• Lead daily job briefings with customers and workers.
• Maintain readiness of rescue equipment and complete ICS reports.
• Provide first aid/CPR as trained and coordinate with EMS for patient transfer.
• Maintain inventories and maintenance of rescue equipment.
• Assist with special projects as assigned.
