Department: Technology

Location: 100% Remote - United States (Eastern/Central preferred; Pacific/Mountain candidates must be able to attend daily 9:30am ET standups and occasional 9am ET sprint demos)

Position Summary

The Lead Report Developer is responsible for the design, development, testing, and maintenance of reports that support enterprise-wide reporting solutions. This role combines deep technical skills with leadership, as it requires not only report development but also supervision of other developers, oversight of data quality, and contributions to overall reporting architecture.

Key Focus Areas

• Report Development: Create reports and semantic layers using enterprise reporting solutions.
• Supervision:Oversee both onshore and offshore report developers.
• Data Quality:Conduct unit testing to ensure reports are accurate, tested, and meet high quality standards.
• Architecture & Tools: Research and contribute to defining reporting architectures and tools that support scalability and uptime.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide input into the technical vision and strategy for all reporting solutions.
• Participate in designing scalable, sustainable reporting architectures that meet global business needs.
• Translate complex business requirements into detailed technical designs.
• Lead and collaborate with employees and vendor partners to build integrated, optimized reporting solutions.
• Automate, monitor, support, and—if necessary—redesign reporting workflows for performance and reliability.
• Partner with DBAs to ensure database design supports performance and reporting requirements.
• Work with the Lineage product team and data/API developers to align on data mapping and report/application design.

Required Qualifications

Experience & Knowledge

• Full life cycle experience building, implementing, and supporting reporting platforms
• Deep understanding of reporting technologies and data architectures
• Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical topics to business stakeholders

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency with SQL and reporting architecture
• Experience with unit testing and QA of reporting solutions
• Experience collaborating with DBAs, product managers, and developers
• Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies and business concepts
• Willingness to ask for help and support others

Education & Experience

• 5+ years developing end-to-end reporting solutions, including architecture and high-quality report delivery
• Experience translating business needs into reporting requirements
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with large-scale reporting platforms such as: Sigma Computing, Jaspersoft, Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire, Sisense, Business Objects, OBIEE, Cognos
• Experience working with a mix of relational and cloud databases: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres, MySQL, Snowflake, Redshift
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field OR 3+ years equivalent IT experience (or a comparable combination of education, training, and experience)

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in the supply chain or logistics industry
• Experience working with data from systems such as: ERP, WMS, TMS, CRM, HRIS
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, Agile environment
• Willing and able to travel occasionally (less than one week per month)
• Maintain personal accountability for delivering high-quality results on time
• Open to coaching and feedback
