Job description

The Opportunity

Ulteig is seeking talented and motivated candidates for a Lead Renewables Engineer - Electrical position. This role will support utility-scale Solar, Wind, and BESS projects primarily in an Owner's Engineering capacity. The selected candidate will engage with clients and cross-discipline teams to provide innovative design reviews and solutions to facilitate pre-construction, design, construction, and startup/commissioning of Renewable Energy projects.

What You'll Do
  1. Apply engineering techniques, industry standards, and contract documents to complete reviews and guide clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  2. Review plans and develop observation reports aligned with utility-scale Renewable generation practices.
  3. Recommend design alterations to improve quality and mitigate risks.
  4. Work closely with engineering leads, providing guidance and support.
  5. Use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish project goals.
  6. Resolve design challenges, including field investigations and discrepancy resolution.
  7. Prepare reports and correspondence on project directions.
  8. Review plans for constructability, safety, and risk considerations.
  9. Maintain a value-engineering mindset throughout projects.
  10. Collaborate with business and engineering staff across markets and disciplines.
  11. Work with clients to understand technical needs and identify solutions.
  12. Support marketing, sales, and business development activities.
  13. Demonstrate creativity and ownership in design processes.
What We Expect from You
  1. B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent.
  2. PE registration and NCEES Council Record preferred.
  3. 10+ years of power systems engineering experience preferred.
  4. Experience with utility-scale Renewables projects is highly desired.
  5. Proficiency with solar design software.
  6. Knowledge of NEC, NESC, and industry standards is a plus.
  7. Knowledge of SCADA systems and system protection is a plus.
  8. Proven skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  9. Ability to travel to client sites and project locations.
  10. Must have permanent authorization to work in the US.

Position details include a target base salary of $122,700 - $159,500, with factors influencing actual compensation. The role will be posted for a minimum of 3 days and up to 60 days until filled. We do not accept unsolicited resumes from staffing agencies unless explicitly contracted.
