Job summary

Teledyne FLIR Defense is seeking an experienced Test Engineer to lead design verification testing, environmental qualification, and reliability verification for advanced EO/IR systems. You will direct activities in the testing laboratory, develop robust test plans, analyze results, and coordinate with external labs and suppliers to ensure product performance and quality.

A Bachelor's in Engineering and 5+ years in QA/Reliability are required.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, planning, and technical documentation skills.
• Experience developing, executing, and documenting qualification or reliability testing.
• Working knowledge of temperature, shock, and vibration testing equipment, including programming.
• Ability to interpret vibration profiles and technical test data.
• 5+ years in Quality, Reliability, Test Engineering, or related field.
• Familiarity with project planning tools such as Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

• Lead Design Verification Testing (DVT), environmental qualification testing, and ongoing reliability verification activities.
• Direct day-to-day work within the internal testing laboratory and mentor Test Technicians.
• Develop test plans, procedures, and methods to validate product performance and reliability.
• Analyze test results and prepare detailed reports with clear conclusions and recommendations.
• Coordinate and oversee testing performed by external laboratories and suppliers.
• Manage testing-related logistics, including purchase orders and vendor interactions.
• Review customer and contractual requirements to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management, sales, and customers on test strategy and results.
• Support quality initiatives and Quality Management System (QMS) activities.
• Drive continuous improvement in test processes, documentation, and execution.
