Job summary

Meta is seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer to join our Asset Management & Reliability team within Facility Operations. You will drive end-to-end asset lifecycle strategies, manage FMEA and maintenance programs, and coordinate with IBOS/ISCE across time zones to minimize downtime.

The role focuses on reliability, risk modeling, and continuous improvement for data center assets, including condition monitoring, spares management, and governance of maintenance changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Reliability Engineering or similar plus 8+ years experience (or 10+ years total).
• 10+ years of reliability engineering experience related to electrical or mechanical cooling equipment.
• Experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and FMEA for maintenance optimization.
• Ability to scope work, set technical direction, and handle high-ambiguity problems.
• Proficiency with Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) to extract data and insights.
• Knowledge of ISO standards ISO 14224, ISO 17359, ISO 55000.
• Experience with program/project management and cross-functional leadership.
• Ability to travel 25% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational FMEA and establish maintenance strategies.
• Govern and curate content for the Global Maintenance Library.
• Drive corrective maintenance via deep failure analysis and preventive actions.
• Comply with regulatory requirements across reliability activities.
• Oversee condition-based monitoring, diagnostics, and robotics applications.
• Assess MTTR/MTBF and drive continuous improvement.
• Develop risk models to prioritize resources and minimize vulnerabilities.
• Manage supplier scope and external partners for reliability.
• Implement sensor-based monitoring for remote task assignment.
• Drive insourcing vs outsourcing decisions for maintenance.
• Establish Service BOMs and spare parts strategies.
• Create a comprehensive whole-equipment sparing strategy.
• Identify First-of-Kind parts and FBPN setups.
• Perform Form-Fit-Function analysis for replacements.
• Coordinate with IBOS and ISCE on parts backlog, tooling, auditing.
