Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services seeks a Lead Registered Nurse to manage day-to-day nursing operations across Residential and Day programs. You will supervise staff, manage scheduling, training, and performance evaluations, ensure medication security, and coordinate with physicians and community medical professionals.
The role requires Virginia RN licensure, 3 years RN/LPN experience, at least 1 year with IDD populations, and a valid driver's license.
Under the supervision of the ICF Nurse Manager, the Lead Registered Nurse manages the day-to-day nursing operations of the Residential and Day programs, shift management and scheduling, staff training and staff supervision, including selection, performance evaluations and discipline of the nursing staff. Responsibilities include scheduling and ordering supplies; maintaining records; ensuring medication security; distributing and administering medications to individuals; recommending medical plan of care; providing training to staff; attending interdisciplinary team meetings; responding to on-call incidents as needed; initiating referrals for services as instructed by physicians; monitoring individuals for medication effects and side effects; providing medication education to individuals and their families; and interfacing with community medical professionals.
