Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Support individuals according to their personalized service and behavior support plans, using support skills for those with moderate to complex needs, and implementing plans of protective oversight, IBSPs, and IPPs in a safe, clean, and organized environment.
- Demonstrate professionalism and model all DSP/RBT skills with a person-centered, trauma-informed approach, providing all direct care responsibilities as needed.
- Collaborate with leadership, clinical staff, external consultants, and community providers to ensure high-quality, streamlined care, and actively participate in team meetings.
- Assist Program Administrator with daily oversight of residence and staff, ensuring compliance with policies, conducting observations, and addressing issues promptly.
- Ensure staff engagement and positive interactions, promoting person-centered activities aligned with IPPs/IBSPs daily.
- Coordinate scheduling, complete daily shift reports, and conduct shift handovers with incoming leads.
- Oversee onboarding and training of new hires, ensuring completion prior to supporting individuals, and monitor ongoing staff training requirements.
- Conduct weekly staff meetings and daily documentation reviews to ensure compliance and accuracy in records, including IPPs, IBSPs, MARs, and logs.
- Ensure proper documentation uploads and filing, and verify the accuracy of billing-related notes and submissions.
- Serve as Facility Manager during shifts, conducting drills, safety checks, and maintenance reporting.
- Review vehicle logs and provide driver training, including certification and safety checks.
- Complete incident reports and notifications per regulations, and manage property and financial documentation accurately.
- Maintain inventory and supply organization, assist individuals with toiletries, and review medication logs daily.
- Comply with all relevant regulations, including HIPAA, and complete required trainings and certifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of direct care experience with individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors.
- Certification as a RBT or licensed as an LPT within 60 days of employment, or equivalent licensure.
- Successful completion of Facility Manager Training within 30 days.
- Completion of State of California DSPT Year 1 and Year 2 courses within one year.
- CPR/First Aid, Ukeru, and CPI certifications (annual recertification).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting, assisting, and emergency interventions.
- Flexibility, teamwork, organization, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field.
- Supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of I/DD, clinical syndromes, and California regulations.
