Position Overview

As International Motors continues to grow in San Antonio, we are preparing to expand our production operations with the introduction of a second production shift. Join a transformational growth initiative and play a key role in launching and scaling night-shift operations at our San Antonio manufacturing facility as our Lead Recruiter.
The Lead Recruiter partners with hiring managers and HR leadership to develop and administer staffing, employment, and recruiting programs. This role translates workforce requirements into effective sourcing, screening, selection, and offer strategies that create a strong pipeline of qualified candidates for the second-shift launch and ongoing operations.
This role will support the successful launch, stabilization, and ongoing operation of night shift by partnering across functions, maintaining effective recruiting operations, and delivering results aligned with business needs. The Lead Recruiter will represent the company professionally with candidates, recruiting partners, educational institutions, agencies, and other external service providers.
We’re looking for an experienced recruiting professional who works independently, applies sound judgment to complex staffing challenges, builds productive networks, and uses best practices and recruiting data to improve hiring outcomes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This position supports a manufacturing environment and requires flexibility to meet operational needs, including production recovery days, overtime, and occasional Friday or weekend coverage as needed. Schedules, start times, and transition timing may vary based on business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with hiring managers to document position requirements, open requisitions, clarify selection criteria, and establish recruiting timelines.
  • Develop and administer staffing, employment, and recruiting programs that support production ramp‑up, workforce expansion, and ongoing business needs.
  • Determine appropriate recruiting sources and execute advertising, posting, outreach, and sourcing strategies for open positions.
  • Build and maintain networks, talent communities, and repeatable recruiting processes that support a strong pipeline of qualified candidates.
  • Promote the company’s employment brand and represent the organization professionally with candidates, schools, community partners, agencies, contractors, and external service providers.
  • Source and pre‑screen candidates, review resumes, assess qualifications, and evaluate the effectiveness of electronic candidate evaluation and applicant tracking tools.
  • Coordinate and document candidate evaluations, interviews, selection decisions, and disposition activity in accordance with company standards and applicable requirements.
  • Advise and support hiring managers throughout the interview and selection process, helping ensure consistent, timely, and objective hiring decisions.
  • Develop, negotiate, and/or support hiring managers with new‑hire compensation packages and employment offers in partnership with HR and Compensation.
  • Coordinate employment background checks and other pre‑employment requirements, as assigned.
  • Manage relationships with recruiting agencies, contractors, job boards, and internet recruiting representatives supporting employment advertising campaigns.
  • Monitor and provide performance feedback on recruiting agencies, sourcing channels, and other recruiting partners.
  • Track recruiting activity and outcomes, analyze source effectiveness and hiring trends, and recommend improvements to recruiting products, services, and processes.
  • Develop, support, or maintain college recruiting, affirmative action, career development, and workforce outreach programs, as assigned.
  • Assist with immigration processes and administration as a liaison with immigration attorneys, when required.
  • Apply advanced recruiting knowledge and sound judgment to resolve complex staffing challenges, including situations where precedent may not exist.
  • Work independently with minimal day‑to‑day guidance while keeping stakeholders informed of risks, progress, and hiring needs.
  • Instruct, coach, or provide informal guidance to recruiters, coordinators, hiring managers, or colleagues with less recruiting experience.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, employment laws, EEO and affirmative action requirements, and recruiting documentation standards.
  • Support hiring events, production recovery needs, and other recruiting activities outside standard business hours, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of human resources experience

OR

  • Master's degree and at least 1 year of human resources experience

OR

  • At least 5 years of human resources experience

We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
Desired Skills
  • At least 3 years of full‑cycle recruiting experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desired, preferably in automotive or commercial vehicle segment.
  • Solid experience leading mass‑hiring and high‑volume recruiting efforts, including production ramp‑ups, skilled trades, and hourly manufacturing roles.
  • Advanced knowledge of sourcing strategies, candidate screening, structured interviewing, selection documentation, and offer development.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex recruiting challenges independently and use sound judgment when established precedent is limited.
  • Strong relationship‑building and consultative skills, with the ability to influence hiring managers and network with senior internal and external partners.
  • Experience managing recruiting agencies, contractors, job boards, community partnerships, college recruiting, or other external sourcing channels.
  • Ability to use recruiting metrics and source effectiveness data to identify trends, improve processes, and support business decisions.
  • Strong organization, communication, negotiation, and documentation skills in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and recruiting technology, including applicant tracking systems, electronic candidate evaluation tools, and internet recruiting platforms.
