Job summary

Usajobs at Fort Benning’s Aquatics Facilities, part of the Army MWR, seeks a lead lifeguard to oversee indoor and outdoor pools, ensuring safety and water quality. You will manage lifeguarding duties, perform first aid when required, and maintain accurate records.

You will participate in safety training, follow TC 21-21 guidelines, and assist with SWET training if available. This role leads other staff and reports to the supervisor.

Summary

This position is located at the Aquatics Facilities which are a part of Fort Benning Family and Morale, Welfare & Recreation (MWR). Incentives and Bonuses Incentives and bonuses will not be paid.

Major Duties

• Serves as the lead lifeguard for indoor and outdoor pools and works under the direction of the Installation Aquatics Program Manager.
• Performs lifeguarding duties and limited management functions.
• Ensures the safe operation of the pool, filtration system, water balance, pool chemistry and performs water test.
• Responsible for pool patrons safety/health in attendance at the assigned aquatics facility.
• Provides maximum surveillance of pool area and rescues swimmers and administers first aid as required.
• Attends aquatics and/or safety training as directed.
• Adheres to the Customer Service standards of the Installation.
• Keeps accurate records/reports and adequate supplies.
• Responsible for teaching aquatic swimming and water survival training according to TC 21-21, and assists with Shallow Water Egress Training (SWET or Dunker) if the equipment/program is available.
• Leads the work of other employees. Passes on to other workers instructions received from the supervisor and starts work. Distributes and balances work- load assuring that each employee has enough work to keep busy.
