Job description

Pay Range

This range is provided by Air Education and Training Command. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay range: $17.00/yr - $26.73/yr

Responsibilities
  1. Lead three or more lifeguards in performing lifeguard and swimming facility duties, distributing workload according to directives.
  2. Maintain awareness of work progress, adjust priorities, and keep records of accomplishments.
  3. Instruct and train lower-grade lifeguards, provide on-the-job training, and answer procedural questions.
  4. Monitor swimmer safety, enforce rules, and perform rescues and first aid as necessary.
  5. Maintain cleanliness and safety of the swimming facilities, check water chemistry, and report issues.
  6. Manage administrative tasks such as verifying customer IDs, collecting fees, and completing reports.
  7. Conduct swimming lessons and consult with senior instructors.
  8. Work indoors and outdoors, often exposed to sun and chlorinated water, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
  • Complete a background check, drug test, and pass a physical.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts.
Qualifications

Open to all applicants; must demonstrate relevant experience including volunteer work. Must hold current Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR certifications. Ability to lift 45 pounds or more.
