Job summary

Commercial Metals seeks an experienced supervisor for rebar detailing who will lead a team, drive project planning, and ensure safety and quality across operations. This role blends technical detailing with cost control and customer-facing collaboration to meet project goals.

You will coordinate with design and field teams, manage resources, and implement solutions to keep projects on schedule and within budget while developing staff and maintaining strong customer relations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in rebar, concrete, or general contracting preferred.
• 5+ years rebar detailing using RebarCAD or MicroStation.
• 3+ years supervisory experience with customer relations and dispute resolution.
• Project management experience preferred.
• Ability to travel locally, regionally, and corporately as needed.
• Strong understanding of project costs/cost control and financials.
• Proficient with AutoCAD 2016+ and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage hiring and training of new detailers; act as SME for rebar detailing tech.
• Assist with maintaining department cost and efficiency.
• Coordinate detailing, planning, and production activities.
• Lead department team toward safety, quality, and standards goals.
• Provide tools and training to develop employees and solve problems.
• Liaise between customers and internal departments (sales, detailing, operations).
• Represent the company in project meetings as needed.
• Negotiate pricing and develop creative solutions to keep projects on track.
• Explain plans and contract terms to staff, workers, and customers.
• Coordinate project requirements with contractors, engineers, and architects.
• Advocate sound business practices in operations to meet budgeting.
