Job summary

Surpass Behavioral Health is hiring a Lead Registered Behavior Technician to oversee one-on-one ABA therapy for children and teens with autism in Charleston, SC. You will train onboarding BTs/RBTs, shadow sessions, and help evaluate and elevate clinician skills under the supervision of a BCBA.

The role requires an active RBT credential, 1+ year of clinical RBT experience, and a commitment to ethical standards and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor or Associate Degree in behavioral health, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Special Education, or related field, preferred.
• Active Registered Behavior Technician Certification issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Registered Behavior Technician in a clinical setting.
• Works with integrity and adheres to the BACB Ethical Code, HIPAA practices, and company policies.
• Ability to move freely, quickly, and frequently from a seated position (on the floor or in a chair) to a standing position as well as the ability to lift items up to 50 lbs. on occasion.

Responsibilities

• Provide mentorship, support, and hands-on training to onboarding BTs and RBTs.
• Provide and facilitate shadowing opportunities for onboarding BT/RBTs during regularly scheduled sessions.
• Assess the skill level of newly hired Behavior Technicians and Registered Behavior Technicians and provide individualized training to best prepare them for the RBT examination and/or placement with clients.
• Provide direct one-on-one therapeutic care to clients in a home, school, clinic, and/or community setting in order to implement behavioral treatment plans and instructional plans utilizing ABA principles as directed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
• Provide a safe and supportive environment for clients and families.
• Assist with supporting clients during times of challenging behaviors through the implementation of the client’s behavior support plan as developed by the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
• Partner with the Behavior Analyst to maintain ongoing communication with parents/caregivers regarding the client’s progress and plan of care.
