Job summary

Menzies Aviation is seeking a ramp agent to lead baggage handling and cargo movement on and off aircraft at our Austin location. The role requires lifting up to 70 lbs and operating small vehicles, with emphasis on safety and adherence to procedures.

Responsibilities include coordinating cargo movement between aircraft, terminals, and facilities, training staff, and interpreting load sheets and manifests. A valid driver’s license and ability to pass drug testing and background checks are

Qualifications

Experience in airport ramp operations and baggage handling.
Must be comfortable lifting/moving 70 lbs.
Must pass drug testing and FBI background check.

Responsibilities

Lead and participate in the movement of cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport between aircraft, outbound bag room, airport terminals, air cargo facilities, and other aircraft.
Safely and continuously lift/move 70 lbs. of cargo and baggage from the outbound bag room, on and off aircraft, and transport between aircraft, airport terminals and air cargo facilities.
Assist Ramp Agents in their assigned areas to ensure Agents are performing their duties in a professional, safe and efficient manner, according to Company/Carriers standards.
Trains employees during 'on the job' training and/or airline specific training or assigns employees to work with experienced agent.
Read, interpret and complete aircraft weight and balance load sheets, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags.
