Job summary

Burns Engineering, Inc. is seeking a licensed Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Rail & Transit, Right of Way & Facilities Team in one of several key locations. You will lead design efforts, develop electrical solutions, and mentor junior engineers on large-scale transportation projects.

The role requires a PE license, a BS in Engineering, and 10+ years of experience including electrical design. Substation work and consulting background are highly valued as you collaborate with clients and

Qualifications

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 10 years related experience; electrical design experience 6+ years.
Experience in consulting is highly preferred.
Substation design experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Develop design approaches and concepts on assigned projects; coordinate with senior staff.
Perform engineering studies, design analyses, and assist with budgets and schedules.
Review shop drawings; communicate with suppliers, contractors and clients.
Conduct on-site inspections and coordinate design requirements during construction.
Mentor junior staff and support project managers in multidisciplinary coordination.
