Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) is seeking a Resident Engineer for rail and transit infrastructure projects in New Jersey. The role involves daily observation of contractor activities and oversight of construction management on site.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, preparing inspection reports, managing change orders and RFIs, ensuring safety compliance, and coordinating with project staff. A BS in engineering and 10+ years’ experience are required; PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience as a Resident Engineer and managing construction field teams.
• OSHA 30-hour safety certification.
• Candidate must have reliable transportation.
• A licensed professional engineer is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the construction management and inspection of rail projects.
• Review shop drawings and specifications to ensure proper installation of contract items.
• Prepare inspection reports and oversee field testing and commissioning.
• Review change orders and respond to RFIs.
