The Radiology Technologist Team Lead performs duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation. He/she supervises staff assigned within specific areas or procedure rooms of the department. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires.

Qualifications
  • Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • 2 years experience as a Radiologic Technologists.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Current CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (Verbal/Written).
Responsibilities
  • Ensures and oversees proper staffing levels for the areas of assigned supervision and makes adjustments as required for absenteeism, vacation and workload variables.
  • Supervises the technical staff and provides input, when asked, for annual performance evaluations of assigned staff. Recommends promotions, disciplinary measures and other administrative actions.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves errors in Radiology reports an patient exam orders, correcting orders when necessary.
  • Ensures the quality of the radiographs presented to the Radiologists meet the standards set forth by the Radiology Department. * Coordinates the repair of malfunctioning equipment and maintenance within the department.
  • Will provide leadership in the area of Patient and Physican Satisfaction.
  • With the approval of the Operations Manager and Chief Tech, will provide input on new employee selection and will assist in interviews when dealing with hires in their area of supervision.

Clinical Instructor, Candian Valley Regional Hospital only:

  • Assists the Radiologic Technology School in establishing clinical objectives and competencies.
  • Arranges a minimum of two clinical application class sessions for first and second year students each month following established class content outlines.
  • Coordinates the completion of monthly progress evaluations, ensuring they are completed by one or more supervising technologists who have regularly observed the students' clinical performance and work habits.

Direct responsibility for the supervision of others. Has general oversight of licensed and non-licensed personnel.

Canadian Valley: Reports to Director of Radiology.

BMC: Reports to Chief Technologist.

Must be able to speak, read and write English neatly and legibly. Requires constant use of good body mechanics. Required to stand most of the day. Employee must lift/carry/push 20 to 40 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to assist patients of various weights frequently. Must be able to work in a darkened room, be able to see and distinguish colors. Must wear a lead apron for up to 2 hours at a time. This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements.
