The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of imaging procedures, including CT and X-Rays, at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Additionally, the incumbent assists with implementing and maintaining a hospital imaging strategy, procedures, equipment, and policies.
Essential Job Functions
- Work closely with the Hospital Administrator in managing and directing daily radiology operations for the facility.
- Participate in the clinical schedule by working regular shifts as a Rad Tech.
- Assist with staff scheduling to ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Support the Director of Radiology in developing, implementing, maintaining, and enforcing departmental policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Maintain documentation to comply with safety, radiation safety, environmental, infection control standards, and regulations such as local, state, FDA, ACR, DNV, and HIPAA.
- Monitor compliance with standards, identify variances, and implement actions to meet targets.
- Ensure radiology equipment, supplies, and materials are maintained for safe and effective service delivery.
- Assist in assessing image accuracy, troubleshooting technical issues, and quality assurance.
- Collect laboratory samples and perform tests following laws, policies, and regulations including COLA and CLIA.
- Assist with patient care activities as directed by the Hospital Administrator or designee, aligned with the patient's care plan.
- Collect and document clinical data, including vital signs, height, weight, intake/output, pulse oximetry, and specimens.
- Ensure patient safety, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, following aseptic, isolation, and infection control procedures.
- Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
Other Job Functions
- Attend required staff and company meetings.
- Travel to all facility locations as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Work off-hours and on-call when required.
Basic Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Graduation from an AMA-approved Radiology Technology program.
- Certification as a medical radiologic technologist as per state requirements.
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
- Associate's Degree in radiology preferred.
- Registration with ARRT in radiography and/or CT preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years radiologic/imaging experience.
- At least 2 years of CT experience.
- 1+ years of emergency room experience preferred.
- Proficiency with X-ray/CT equipment, hardware, software, and PACS.
