Lead Radiology Technologist - Fulltime Days

A Brief Overview

Works with the Radiology Manager to ensure the efficient daily operation of the radiology department. Assigns resources as needed.

What you will do

  • Maintains an orderly, safe, and clean working environment
  • Troubleshoots any problems that occur with equipment before calling for service
  • Assists with updating the clinical X-ray procedure manual as needed
  • Maintains communication with Radiology Manager to oversee updated radiology protocols
  • Selects and orders proper supplies
  • Assures that all work areas are kept clean, and well supplied
  • Attends seminars and conferences in order to maintain current technology and to be in compliance with continued education credits
  • Allocates personnel to satisfy workload demands in most efficient manner
  • Participates in maintaining QC for X-ray equipment
  • Maintains and respects confidentiality
  • Complies with Hospital dress cods by wearing ID badge and maintaining professional appearance
  • Demonstrates commitment to own work schedule by adhering to attendance standards
  • Arranges for transportation to and from nursing units. Personally transports patients in emergency situations
  • Utilizes time in an effective manner
  • Adjusts personal schedule in case of fluctuations in workload of the department
  • Demonstrates ability to recognize priorities and deal with them promptly
  • Reports any opportunities for improvement to Radiology Manager
  • Reports any suggestions or positive changes to Radiology Manger
  • Utilizes the PACS/RIS system
  • Assures that X-ray technologists meet criteria for performance and job duties set forth in position description
  • Performs other duties assigned

Education Qualifications

  • Trade/Vocational School Graduate of an approved school of x-ray technology required

Experience Qualifications

  • 3+ years post-licensure experience required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Incorporates physiological and developmental age of patients into overall plan for delivery of care
  • Responsibilities may require adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend/call/holiday hours in order to meet the operational needs of the department and/or hospital
  • Responsibilities will require ability to read, write, and rationally comprehend the English Language
  • Must be able to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team to ensure that quality service in provided to clients and physicians
  • Utilizing any or all Hospital provided equipment and/or safe work procedures; employee shall be required to lift all objects as in practicable
  • The employee must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job, including but not limited to, standing, walking, reaching with arms above head, climbing, balancing. Must be able to stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Licensed Radiologic Technologist Must possess current/valid NJ licensure upon hire required and
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Must possess current/valid certification upon hire required and
  • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation AHA upon hire required
