GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the division supervisor, division head, and/or department administration, functions as the person in charge in the absence of the supervisor. May assist as timekeeper, prepares employee schedules, orders supplies, reports equipment malfunctions, and other related functions of the division as directed by the division/department leadership. May function as a Radiologic Technologist and be assigned in the division schedules. May assist with the training of new personnel and/or students who are assigned to the division. Will not be expected to make independent changes in policy/procedures or take disciplinary actions in the supervisor's absence. Performs related duties as required.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. May assist as a timekeeper, preparing employee schedules, ordering supplies, reporting equipment malfunctions, and other related functions of the division as directed by the division/department leadership.
2. May function as a Radiologic Technologist and be assigned in the division schedules (will adhere to the job description for the position).
3. Will make the division/department leadership aware of any incidents, problems, or emergencies that occur in the division.
4. Will respond to the radiologists and/or staff physicians regarding quality of patient care issues and relay information to the division/department leadership as appropriate.
5. May assist with the training of new personnel and/or students who are assigned to the division.
6. Ensures that adequate supplies are in the division and properly stored.
7. May perform clerical duties to include answering telephones, patient scheduling, and RIS functions as needed.
8. May support image management functions such as follow-up on missing/unread cases, completing RIS functions, etc.
9. May maintain records, keep logs, and other documentation as needed.
10. May participate in meetings, educational programs, etc., as necessary.
11. Completes all necessary worksheets, patient records, and documentation. Processes images and related functions as needed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

1. High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
2. Must be registered in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
3. Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiographer required.
4. Must maintain required hours of continued medical education.
5. Must maintain a Healthcare Provider certification (BCLS).
