Job summary

WD is seeking a talented researcher to join our team and drive innovative quantum computing research, focusing on large-scale simulation of superconducting qubits and error correction schemes. You will implement distributed network models and contribute to understanding parameter distributions affecting fault-tolerant quantum computation.

You will work with room temperature and low-temperature metrology scientists, and collaborate with information theorists to evaluate error-correction schemes.

Qualifications

• PhD required with coursework in condensed matter physics, quantum field theory and quantum error correction.
• Experience with open source and commercial software for quantum computing (Pennylane, TopQAD, scqubits, SQuADDS).
• Proficiency in Python, C, Rust, TCL and familiarity with FPGA-based microcontrollers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute quantum computing superconducting qubit simulations for multi-qubit systems.
• Collaborate with product teams to translate research into novel solutions.
• Publish papers and present findings at conferences.
