Job summary

Currie & Brown in Indiana is seeking an experienced Construction Quantity Surveyor to support client sites with estimation, procurement, and cost planning.

You will collaborate with project managers, design teams, and contractors to keep projects on budget while identifying value engineering opportunities and managing subcontractor bids. The role emphasizes accuracy, risk management, and clear cost reporting throughout preconstruction to final account, ensuring quality and schedule.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in CSA quantity surveying, cost management, and commercial management.
  • Proficiency in quantity take-offs, cost estimating, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to read architectural, structural, civil, and engineering drawings.
  • Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, contracts, and procurement processes.
  • Experience managing change orders, claims, variations, and final accounts.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and financial management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with clients, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate CSA cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts throughout all project phases.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and measurements from architectural, structural, and civil drawings.
  • Prepare cost plans, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and tender documentation.
  • Monitor and control CSA project costs from preconstruction through final account.
  • Administer construction contracts, manage change orders, and negotiate variations.
  • Prepare procurement packages and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
  • Review progress valuations, issue payment recommendations, and reconcile final accounts.
  • Conduct cost reporting, financial forecasting, earned value analysis, and risk assessments.

  • Support value engineering and identify cost‑saving opportunities while maintaining quality and schedule.
  • Experience with data center, industrial, manufacturing, semiconductor, or mission‑critical projects preferred.

About the Role

Currie & Brown is seeking an experienced Construction Quantity Surveyor for a client site in Indiana. The successful candidate will support project leaders by delivering core services, including estimation, procurement, and cost planning, while ensuring work is completed on budget and to the highest standards. This role will contribute to successful project outcomes, knowledge sharing, and innovation, reinforcing Currie & Brown’s reputation as a trusted partner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience supporting hyperscale data center, mission‑critical, semiconductor, or large commercial construction projects is highly desirable.
