Job summary

American Society for Quality seeks a Core Quality Manager for Controls and Calibration in Propulsion Systems to ensure deployment of Quality policies and achieve product quality targets on PVPC and PCAL from development to mass production.

You will lead global efforts to define and improve propulsion system processes, drive deep-dive analyses of controls and calibration, and manage issues across regions while coordinating with customer experience and warranty items.

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, electrical engineering or related degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of automotive experience with knowledge of propulsion systems in product development, manufacturing or quality.
  • Track record of powertrain design and release or testing and validation experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of quality tools, methods, processes to drive continuous product improvements in the automotive industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills (e.g. Shainin Red X, Lean, DFSS).
  • Ability to work under pressure, stay organized and continuously meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills with professional and positive attitude, ability to lead and work with a global development team.
  • Domestic and international travel possible.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in quality management or engineering; six sigma green/black belt; Shainin Red X Certification; 5+ years in Propulsion Systems; 5+ years PVPC/PCAL design and release; 5+ years of quality management.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for design related quality for development and production of PVPC and PCAL from program approval to end of production.
  • Lead global efforts for defining and improving propulsion systems processes related to PVPC and PCAL.
  • Lead design quality assessments and follow quality KPIs for the PVPC and PCAL perimeter across new programs and regions.
  • Manage a systemic approach for quality improvements analyzing propulsion systems interactions.
  • Drive deep dive Controls and Calibration analysis to address field concerns.
  • Manage PVPC and PCAL assigned issues (GIMs/ S2IRIUS) and direct them to closure.
  • Interface with Customer Experience, supporting warranty items and emerging issues.
  • Review and approve process and requirements for validation, with focus on quality aspects.
  • Review and approve Controls and Calibration related repair & service procedures.
  • Organize and lead internal and external project team quality meetings.
  • Regular reporting to propulsion systems and quality management.
