Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Supplier Quality Lead to spearhead our initiative in managing supplier quality and overseeing monetary claims related to the cost of poor quality and additional inspections. This role is crucial for aligning supplier operations with our quality standards and financial objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in supplier quality management, demonstrate strong financial acumen, effectively communicate with senior management, have a big picture strategic mindset, handle multiple priorities, influence, and solve complex problems.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively reviews supplier capabilities, assess operational gaps to identify risks and takes systematic actions to develop a world class supplier.
  • Is globally responsible for all supplier development, quality improvement and sustainment.
  • Systematically drives Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations to prevent defects.
  • Works directly with sourcing, business, engineering and our customers on strategies to improve product quality and delivery.
  • Identifies and leads the implementation of continuous improvement projects.
  • Are leaders creating a performance culture with our suppliers through coaching and technical engagement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the effort to determine and collect monetary claims from suppliers for costs associated with poor quality and additional inspections.
  • Develop and implement processes for documenting, tracking, and approving claims while ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance and procurement, to evaluate and settle claims effectively.
Budget Management
  • Oversee the supplier quality budget, ensuring expenditures are tracked, analyzed, and maintained within approved limits.
  • Regularly report on budget status and variances, providing actionable insights to senior management.
  • Participate in the annual operating plan (AOP) planning process, contributing quality objectives and budget recommendations.
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and operations, to support quality initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends and recommend strategies for reducing defects and improving supplier performance.
  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers, encouraging open communication and commitment to quality standards.
  • Improve standard processes to maximize efficiency.
  • Utilize change management skills to implement process changes both internally and externally.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Project management, Marketing or Business.
  • 5+ years combined of Supply Chain, Customer support, Finance, Program management or Engineering experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience planning and maintaining a large budget.
  • SAP Skills.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean Expert Certification.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Including customer reporting.
  • Experience with project management and customer support.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of leadership.
  • A change agent with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, including ability to interpret business performance and financial data, define actions, and implement solutions.
  • Effective collaboration skills to motivate and influence others at various levels without a direct reporting relationship.
  • Experience on working with global suppliers / customers.
