Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Quality leader to guide proactive quality activities and drive a Zero Defect Culture across the Muskegon site. You will lead quality engineers, champion PFMEA initiatives, and push for preventative controls to lift process stability and first-pass yields.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, data-driven problem solving, and strong knowledge of Quality Procedures and standards. Requires aerospace quality experience and relevant education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of quality experience in aerospace or related industry) + minimum of 3 years of quality experience in aerospace.

Responsibilities

• Lead Quality Engineers in QE education and training.
• Promote Zero Defect Culture and drive across MKG.
• Lead PFMEA analysis to review, reduce risk and reassess.
• Assist teams in process capability reviews for stability.
• Lead read-across opportunities and share best practices.
• Utilize quality tools and corrective actions to close gaps.
• Oversee MRB and eCAV reviews to improve first-pass yield.
• Support root cause correction (QEM/DSQR) and closure management.
• Capture opportunities through DRB to document lessons learned.

Job Description Summary

The purpose of this role is to help lead proactive quality activities through FLIGHT DECK and Zero Defect Culture quality tools to help guide the teams in a transformational shift from reactive defect and loss management to preventative quality management.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead Quality Engineers in core QE responsibility education and training
• Promote Zero Defect Culture support and lead acceleration and expansion across MKG
• Lead PFMEA analysis to help create a living system of review, risk reduction and reassessment
• Assist teams in process capability review and monitoring to find opportunities for process stability
• Lead read across opportunities
• Best practice leverage of quality tools and corrective actions to close opportunity gaps
• MRB and eCAV review to improve first pass yield submittals
• QEM and DSQR root cause corrective action assistance and closure management
• DRB authorship to capture quality opportunities, wins and lessons learned

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in quality experience in Aerospace, or other applicable industry experience) + Minimum of 3 years of quality experience in Aerospace, or other applicable industry

Desired Characteristics

• Proficient knowledge of and ability to interpret Quality Procedures and Standards per internal & external requirements (Example: AS9100, Rev. C, S1000 specs), as well as internal controlling documents such as MOSs and EMSs.
• Ability to read B/P and strong GD&T knowledge and understanding4. Proficient understanding of Process capability, SPC and stats analysis
• General understanding of the Special Process used at GE Muskegon, including, but not limited to, Cleanliness, Thermal Spray and VPA Coatings, Airflow, Welding, Heat Treat, Braze, Nonconventional Machining, Laser, X-ray, and FPI.
• Demonstrate communication skills needed to work with cross functional teams.

The salary range for this position is $ 101,000.00 - 135,000.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive plan. This posting is expected to close on Dec 25, 2026.
