Job summary

Sabre Industries is seeking a Lead Inspector to oversee inspection activities and guide a team of quality control inspectors. The role requires NDT UT certifications, blueprint reading, and strong communication to ensure all parts conform to design specifications.

The ideal candidate will have a background in quality control, the ability to train staff, and perform shifts in an outdoor manufacturing environment. This is a full-time position based in Louisiana.

Qualifications

• Must have NDT Certifications in UT.
• Experience in quality control or related field.
• Read and interpret blueprints and prints.
• Strong communication and training abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead inspection team and assign daily duties.
• Ensure parts meet design specifications and print tolerances.
• Maintain accurate pass-down logs and documentation.
• Conduct safety briefings and shift start meetings.
• Coordinate with QC Supervisor as needed.

Scope Of Responsibility

The Lead inspector is responsible to ensure that all parts, sections and/or poles meet standards set forth by design requirements. The Lead Inspector is also responsible for directing and assigning the daily duties of all Quality Control Inspectors with the supervision of the QC Supervisor.

Essential Duties

• Serves as a "Working Lead Person"
• Must be able to perform all inspection functions except nondestructive testing. (Able to take over inspectors activities).
• Communicate instructions from management in a detailed manner on a daily basis.
• Responsible for training and development of all inspectors.
• Ensure that all documentation is accurately and neatly completed.
• Responsible for holding safety and all other meetings with team members in order to communicate important information at the beginning of each shift.
• Keep pass down log accurate.
• Ensure that all inspectors are complying with Sabre Tubular Structures safety standards.
• Able to assume responsibilities of the QC supervisor when needed.
• Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
• Additional duties as assigned

Position Requirements

• Regular and timely attendance is required
• Must have NDT Certifications in UT.
• High School/GED preferred but not required.
• One year in Quality Control or related field. Welding background a plus.
• Be able to read and interpret blueprints
• Be able to accurately verify all parts to print using a tape measure.
• Responsible for training personnel as needed
• Possess effective communication skills to motivate and direct employees
• Must be able to read and write in English
• Intermediate computer skills with experience in MS Office

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials
• Must be able to work in an outside manufacturing environment for long shifts, including weekends
• Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual
• Must be able to work in an open environment exposed to extreme temperatures
• Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources
