Hireology is seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to oversee final inspections for yellow school buses prior to delivery. You will lead inspections, verify PDI accuracy, and ensure all federal/state requirements and customer specs are met.

The role demands strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate corrective actions clearly with technicians and management. Supervisory experience is preferred and DOT/FMVS safety standards familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality control, fleet maintenance, or related field.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to identify defects.
• Previous supervisory or management experience.
• School-bus industry experience preferred.
• Familiarity with DOT/FMVSS or safety standards is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to read work orders, specs, and technical docs.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsabilités

• Perform and oversee final quality-control inspections on school buses prior to delivery.
• Verify completed Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) work for accuracy and workmanship.
• Inspect vehicle systems, equipment, components, body and interior condition, and options.
• Confirm buses meet federal, state, manufacturer, customer, and company requirements.
• Verify customer specifications and required equipment are installed and functioning.
• Identify defects, damage, incomplete repairs, and other deficiencies.
• Document QC findings clearly and communicate corrective actions to technicians or management.
• Reinspect completed corrections before approving a bus for release.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, checklists, photographs, and documentation.
• Ensure paperwork and inspection records are complete before delivery.
• Work with PDI techs, service, parts, operations, and management to resolve issues.
• Track recurring defects and identify root causes for improvement.
• Develop and improve standardized QC procedures and checklists.
• Monitor quality trends and report issues to management.
