Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a Quality Control Engineer to lead QAQC across data center construction, from pre-design to turnover, ensuring quality, safety and performance.

You’ll review designs, develop control plans, conduct inspections, coordinate with QA vendors, and report KPIs while driving continuous improvements and knowledge transfer to customers across North and South America.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities such as data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
• 4+ years of commissioning experience.
• 5+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for critical infrastructures.
• Experience building strategic relationships with stakeholders across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of QAQC processes throughout data center construction projects—from pre-design to turnover and beyond.
• Review design documents and provide feedback on constructability, maintainability, and QA measures.
• Develop and maintain quality control plans, inspection checklists, and relevant documentation.
• Conduct onsite QAQC inspections for installation activities, ensuring AWS standards and specifications.
• Coordinate with third-party Quality Control Agents/Vendors to ensure comprehensive QAQC.
• Facilitate QC meetings with stakeholders to review quality issues.
• Monitor and report quality metrics and KPIs across the project lifecycle.
• Identify, document, and track defects or non-conformances and ensure timely resolution.
• Deliver comprehensive quality control turnover packages for each project phase.
• Conduct final quality reviews and walkthroughs prior to handover.
• Transfer QAQC knowledge to end customers and document lessons learned.
• Contribute to continuous improvement through quality data analyses.
