Barrett Petfood is hiring a Full-Time Lead Quality Assurance Technician in Little Falls, MN. Lead QA programs, mentor technicians, and ensure SQF/GMP compliance in pet food production. Competitive hourly pay and a Monday–Friday day schedule.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in QA within food/pet food manufacturing, with a high school diploma required and a bachelor’s degree preferred. Training and performance coaching are integral to this role.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of QA experience in the food/pet food manufacturing sector.
• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Proficient knowledge of GMPs, sanitation, and food safety principles.
• Familiarity with SQF, HACCP, or Preventive Controls is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with and own execution of the Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP), including sample collection, scheduling, tracking results, trending data, and verifying corrective actions.
• Coordinate and support QA-led projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and corrective action activities.
• Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of SOPs, SSOPs, and work instructions.
• Train and coach QA Technicians on SOPs, SSOPs, work instructions, GMPs, sanitation, and food safety practices.
• Support onboarding and hands-on training of new QA Technicians to ensure consistent execution of quality programs.
• Serve as a technical resource for QA Technicians and assist with troubleshooting quality and food safety issues.
• Perform routine QA Technician duties as needed, including inspections, sampling, testing, and documentation review.
• Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits by ensuring programs and documentation are audit-ready.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory.
• Ability to safely climb and descend stairs and ladders as required to perform essential job functions.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
