Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience in a quality management role within food or pet food manufacturing.
• Strong working knowledge of SQF and food safety regulations.
• Experience leading audits and managing cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Quality Assurance team and manage all quality-related departmental activities.
• Manage and maintain quality systems, ensuring adherence to QA policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve the SQF system across the organization.
• Lead SQF training initiatives and ensure all departments are trained and compliant with food safety standards.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for pest control and chemical service providers.
• Conduct and manage internal audits; prepare for and lead customer and regulatory audits.
• Address and manage significant quality holds that may result in product loss, including investigation, documentation, and corrective actions.
• Write, review, and maintain quality policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Initiate purchase requisitions related to quality, food safety, and compliance needs.
• Communicate non-routine quality-related costs and risks to leadership.
• Implement discipline and corrective actions for QA team members in alignment with company policies.
• Collaborate with the Director on Quality Assurance compensation planning and departmental strategy.
