Job summary

Alaska Airlines is seeking a Manager Quality Assurance (QA) for Maintenance & Engineering to lead the audit program, drive compliance, and enhance safety standards across the organization. You will guide a team, set priorities, and partner with leadership to strengthen processes and mitigate risks.

The role requires extensive auditing experience, leadership skills, and a strong focus on safety, with interaction across CAMP, SMS, and regulatory bodies to uphold rigorous QA practices.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in operational process auditing, or equivalent in maintenance leadership.
  • 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree, with a focus in a discipline related to this role, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Strong analytical skills, process-driven, and a strong safety advocate.
  • Excellent communication (e.g., verbal, written, and listening) and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Lead auditors while managing time and budget to ensure quality and auditee satisfaction.
  • Ensure QA activities support CAMP, Engineering process oversight, and SMS.
  • Assign QA resources to cover all auditing requirements and third‑party maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the Director QA to plan risk-based audit coverage and strategy.
  • Communicate audit findings to senior leadership and coordinate with FAA and CMA when needed.
  • Prepare formal written reports supported by evidence and ensure corrective actions are tracked.
  • Support DAG and SRB with summaries of audit results and trends.
  • Liaise with FAA on MPL issues and CFAR 121.368(h).
  • Develop risk-based tools to strengthen processes and controls.
  • Develop team through performance management and coaching.
