Job summary

Cerelia is seeking a Lead Quality Assurance Technician for its Whitehall, Ohio facility. This hands-on leadership role oversees QA Technicians, ensures product quality, and upholds SQF, GMP, and customer specifications across shifts.

You will lead testing, documentation, CAPA investigations, and supplier/allergen controls while coordinating with Production and Maintenance teams. Strong QA background and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Three years of QA experience in food manufacturing; associate degree preferred.
• Working knowledge of food safety programs, microbiological principles, and sanitation concepts.
• Experience with certification and regulatory programs (Kosher, Organic, RSPO, Non-GMO, Gluten-Free) preferred; gluten-free controls a strong plus.
• Competent with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to comprehend written work instructions, procedures, and operational documentation.
• Ability to learn and apply new processes, procedures, equipment, and technologies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Maintain SOPs and training materials to support onboarding, cross-training, and operational consistency.
• Ability to train, coach, and mentor employees on job duties, safety, quality, and processes.
• Strong communication in English; Spanish or French a plus.
• Willingness to work varying shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Demonstrated positive leadership and alignment with company values.

Responsibilities

• Conduct internal audits to verify quality management system and GMP adherence.
• Organize and compile records including batch, CCP monitoring, and production forms.
• Maintain lab equipment and calibration programs; review maintenance records and inventory.
• Support allergen control and gluten-free program requirements.
• Data entry of quality results including bake-off outcomes, incident reports, and complaints.
• Submit samples for third-party testing per procedures.
• Assist investigations into non-conformances and CAPAs.
• Support Environmental Monitoring Program and sanitation validation.
