Cubic Transportation Systems in Ashburn, VA is seeking a Lead QA Engineer to own end-to-end software testing, combining hands-on manual testing with Python and Playwright automation. You will establish QA standards, work with engineers and product owners to ensure release quality, and guide QA practices across the team.

The role requires strong testing judgment, practical automation experience, and the ability to mentor other QA engineers.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of professional software quality assurance or related QA experience.
• 2+ years of demonstrated QA leadership across engineering teams.
• Strong proficiency in Python and hands-on automation with Playwright.

Responsabilidades

• Own end-to-end testing strategy (functional, integration, regression, exploratory, release).
• Perform hands-on manual testing of new features and complex workflows.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance automated tests using Python and Playwright.
• Evaluate test coverage and determine where automation provides most value.
• Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and tech leads to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Identify, document, reproduce defects; perform root-cause analysis and verify fixes.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and maintain reliable test execution.
• Manage test data and environments to support testing across components.
• Communicate testing results and release risks to stakeholders.
• Establish and improve QA standards, practices, and processes across teams.
• Provide mentorship to QA engineers and developers on testing approaches.
