Job summary

Avid Systems LLC seeks an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer / Lead Test Engineer to support a major WMATA modernization program. You will lead QA for web, mobile, and backend systems and drive automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.

Collaborating with developers, DevOps, and business stakeholders, you will ensure functional, performance, security, and quality standards throughout the software lifecycle and support user acceptance testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in software testing and QA.
• 6+ years of experience in functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience testing web-based, mobile, and enterprise applications.
• Experience analyzing requirements and developing test plans and cases.
• Experience using defect tracking and test management tools.
• Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA and testing activities for web, mobile, and backend applications.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, plans, scripts, and data.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Validate functionality across WMATA’s public website and SmarTrip apps.
• Review requirements and designs to ensure test coverage.
• Document and track defects to resolution.
• Coordinate integration testing with third-party services.
• Support UAT and collaborate with stakeholders on requirements.
• Ensure CI/CD integration of automated tests and deployments.
