Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Lead Software QA Automation Engineer to design and maintain automated testing frameworks for our mission-critical ground communications platform. You will drive Cypress-based end-to-end testing of web interfaces and microservices, and lead QA automation strategy within an Agile/SAFe environment.

You will collaborate with developers, system engineers, and government stakeholders, integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI) on AWS and containerized deployments,

Qualifications

• Requires 14+ years with Associate or 12+ with Bachelor’s or 10+ with Master’s; four years in lieu of degree.
• 5+ years in government programs involving software testing and SDLC.
• Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI; must maintain clearance.
• Hands-on leadership in automation and software engineering.
• Experience with Cypress and JavaScript/TypeScript in automated testing.
• Experience testing REST APIs; Linux experience; CI/CD integration.

Responsibilities

• Architect and evolve scalable automated testing frameworks using Cypress/JS/TS.
• Lead QA automation strategy and define robust test procedures.
• Develop, run, and maintain automated regression and functional suites; manage defects in Jira.
• Oversee test data governance in Postgres/MySQL and ensure data quality.
• Integrate Cypress tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI) in AWS/cloud environments.
• Collaborate with developers, engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to shape testability.
