Our client, a respected software development house based in East London , is seeking a Lead QA Automation Engineer to enhance their testing strategies and ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. This leadership role involves designing, implementing, and managing automated testing frameworks, leading a team of QA engineers, and driving best practices in quality assurance. You will work closely with development and product teams to integrate testing into the CI/CD pipeline and ensure comprehensive test coverage. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of test automation tools, methodologies, and a passion for ensuring software excellence. This is a crucial position for maintaining and improving the quality standards of our client's innovative software solutions. You will be a key driver of quality within the engineering department.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust automated testing frameworks.
• Develop and execute automated test scripts for web and mobile applications.
• Mentor and guide a team of QA automation engineers, fostering technical growth and best practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading a QA team or function.
• Expertise in test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Appium).
• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used for test automation (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript).
• Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Experience working in the Eastern Cape region or willingness to work a hybrid model from our East London office.
