Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in Houston seeks a Lead Software Engineer to drive the expansion of a best-in-class platform for equity inventory management, client funds lifecycle, reporting, and automation of the firm’s booking process.

You will work with traders and Middle Office, mentor teams, and own full SDLC for new features and enhancements while aligning with other tech groups and production support teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Strong Python concepts including OO design, multi-threading, and parallel processing.
• Front-end skills in JavaScript/React, AngularJS, TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
• Finance domain knowledge in asset management is preferred.
• Experience designing scalable microservices with high resiliency.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (Sybase, Oracle, MongoDB).
• Experience with SDLC tools: Git/Jira/Jenkins/Gradle/Maven.
• Proven track record in Agile teams and production support ownership.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business, quant, and tech teams to define requirements and solutions.
• Mentor developers and conduct code and design reviews.
• Develop enhancements or new solutions for business objectives and requirements.
• Own feature deliveries across the full SDLC from requirements to deployment and support.
• Coordinate with other tech teams to implement changes across systems.
• Ensure solutions are robust, scalable, and maintainable.
• Document release procedures and support notes for production teams.
• Provide 3rd level production support and drive issue analysis and improvements.
• Train AI agents to automate support, documentation, and development lifecycles.
