Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR in Des Plaines, IL is seeking a Non-Certified Electrician to install residential solar and battery storage systems, ensuring compliance with NEC and local codes, and performing main panel upgrades as needed. You will lead on-site electrical installations, diagnose issues, coordinate with AHJs and homeowners, and support the PV installation team; travel about 5% to project sites.

The role requires a high school diploma, progress toward licensing, experience with up to 600 VDC

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
Progress toward state electrical licensing or certification.
Experience with electrical installations and maintenance.
Experience with systems up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC.

Responsibilities

Lead the installation of electrical systems that connect residential solar and battery storage to the grid.
Ensure all work meets NEC, state and local codes and safety standards.
Plan and perform solar battery installations and main panel upgrades (MPUs) per licensing requirements.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical issues and system performance problems.
Collaborate with project teams and homeowners to identify necessary electrical upgrades.
Coordinate with AHJs for permits, inspections and code compliance.
Apply OSHA regulations and safety procedures on PV installations.
Assist with additional projects as needed and travel to job sites (approx. 5%).
