Job summary

Boise State University seeks a leader to head the Public Safety Analysis Unit, delivering accurate, timely information to support campus safety decisions. This role directs crime and intelligence analysis, enhanced background checks, and reporting, while mentoring analysts and maintaining analytical quality and confidentiality.

The position guides strategy, supports threat assessment, and collaborates with university leadership to improve operations, allocate resources, and protect the campus

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent plus 5 years of experience, including 1 year of managerial experience.
• Preferred: 7 years in public safety or related field with 3+ years supervisory experience

Responsibilities

• Lead the Public Safety Analysis Unit and set priorities, procedures, analytical standards, and service expectations.
• Directly supervise analysts and manage performance, workload, service coverage, and quality.
• Conduct analytical work and perform analyst functions when needed due to staffing or urgency.
• Develop case timelines, identify information gaps, research, and support interviews or investigations.
• Lead the Idaho Threat Assessment Conference planning, coordination, and logistics.
• Respond to urgent situations and campus emergencies as part of incident management.
• Manage resources and budget to support reliable unit operations.
